Compass has always been involved in the construction community through it’s involvement with industry associations such as the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio (BX) and the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI), lifelong members of both. Co-founder, Larry Mirgon, is a past president of the Builders Exchange and Compass is involved in numerous BX activities, most notably the Safety Program. In association with this and our efforts to provide a safe work environment for our jobsites & employees, we belong to the Safety Council of Greater Columbus (SCGC). Jeff Mirgon has been a member of the SCGC for over 20 years and is also a past president of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA) of Central Ohio. Brent Allen is a former President of AWCI, on the Board of Directors as the chair of the Construction Technology Council and in turn an active member of ASTM International on several Committees related to interior building materials & practices. Compass is one of the founding contractors of the Steel Framing Industry Association (SFIA), whose membership is comprised of steel mills, processors, manufacturers, fabricators, engineers and suppliers, dedicated to expanding the market for building with cold-formed steel through Promotion, Advocacy, Education and Innovation.
